Larry Gene Bell kidnapped 17-year-old Sharon "Shari" Faye Smith at gunpoint from her mailbox about
750 ft. away from her home on Platt Springs Road on May 31, 1985, while getting the mail. Her car
was discovered by her father with the engine running and the door open.

Larry called the Smith's hope to speak to Hilda, and to show that it was a hoax he then named what
Shari was wearing at the time. He also told the Smith's that they will receive a letter in the mail
tomorrow. Shari's dad got the mail and opened it with gloves, he then read the title of the letter
"Last Will and Testament", which was 2pages. She told how much she loves them.
At the end of the letter it read "Casket Closed".

Her mom and dad wont ever forget reading those 2 words in quote.

Her body was later found in Saluda County, South Carolina. He then kidnapped nine-year-old Debra May
Helmick who was outside a trailer near Old Percival Road in Richland County, South Carolina.

Family

I watched the movie based on her disappearance when I was a young girl, it touched me and my family. As a mom I cannot fathom the pain u must have endured and still do. I hope u r finally at peace with this and know Shari is watching over u.
